Jefferson-Shelby
Youth Football League
For Immediate Release

The Jefferson Shelby Youth Football League, which consists mostly of the “Over
the Mountain” communities and is home to more than 2,000 football players and
cheerleaders, met on Sunday, July 26, 2020 and voted to cancel the 2020 Youth Football Season.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 along with the current surge in cases
over the past month, and the possibility of additional city, county, and/or state
shutdowns, it was determined to be in the best interest of the players, cheerleaders, coaches, spectators and league volunteers to cancel our 2020 season.

This decision was not made lightly. The League understands the decision to cancel the 2020 season will not be popular with everyone. However, we hope that
everyone will understand the health and safety of all who are involved with
Jefferson Shelby Youth Football League has always been our main focus and was
the primary reason for this difficult decision by the Member Parks and the League Board.

2020 Fall Soccer

The Helena Soccer  Program  is affiliated with CASL

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have an impact on our Country and our community. Recently, this week, we have seen some cases of COVID-19 show up in a few Shelby County Schools, including here at our intermediate school. After assessing the current environment, we are living in, the Soccer board voted and has notified the Helena Parks and Rec Director that we will be suspending the Fall 2020 season. Many factors went into this decision but the most important is the risk factor of having the players compete in a close contact sport such as soccer. The safety of our players and parents have always been a top priority for our soccer club and now more than ever we must continue to live up that commitment.

We will be sending out full refunds for each registered player by September 19th. We appreciate each and everyone of you who support this club and our community and look forward to kicking off the Spring 2021 season TOGETHER!

Each sport continues to do their own assessment of the upcoming season, this notice is for the Helena Soccer Club Only.
