FEMA: Final Public Notice: Final Public Notice PW4596-00056/GMP PN 242536, City of Helena Final Public Notice The City of Helena has applied for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance(PA) Program funding through Alabama Emergency Management (AEM) as a sub-grantee.Under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), federal actions must be reviewed and evaluatedfor feasible alternatives and for social, economic, historic, environmental, legal, and safetyconsiderations. Under Executive Order (EO) 11988 and EO 11990, FEMA is required to consideralternatives, and to provide a public notice of any proposed actions in or affecting floodplains orwetlands. EO 12898 also requires FEMA to provide the opportunity for public participation in theplanning process and to consider potential impacts to minority and low-income populations. Salary Range: $16.71-$22.40/hour



Responsible for the maintenance of the City’s roads and property by performing the following duties. Benefits include State Retirement, paid Health Insurance (single), and vacation package.


Principle Duties

Ø  Cut’s grass and trims weeds.

Ø  Operates backhoe to dig trenches for pipes.

Ø  Operates brush truck to collect and deliver brush to landfill.

Ø  Repair’s streets and sidewalks.

Ø  Barricades roads for floods or event purposes.

Ø  Removes and replaces damaged traffic signs

Ø  Replaces worn or damaged parts in machines and equipment.

Ø  Assists with set-up and take down of holiday decorations.

Ø  Operates backhoes, excavators, asphalt rollers, boom mowers, zero turn mowers, floor saws, grapple trucks, brush trucks, side arm, and other various small power tools or heavy equipment.

Ø  Assist with demolitions of property as needed.

Ø  Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with others.
